LEED and Green Plumbing and Fire Protection Experience
Forward-Thinking Sustainability Practices
Monona Plumbing and Fire Protection strives to build a more energy‐efficient, healthier, and cost‐effective building. Naturally, the evolution of plumbing and fire protection fixtures and equipment lend themselves to a continuous migration toward more efficient means/uses. It is the combination of efficiency and affordability when selecting fixtures (i.e. toilets, lavatories, etc.) and equipment (i.e. water heaters, water softeners, etc.) that places MPFP above other designers.
MPFP’s design department utilizes the most current technologies and software. Initial design, coordination, review, and revisions are all able to be handled electronically, thus greatly reducing office waste.
Aside from using “green” fixtures and equipment, MPFP has additional construction experience with green or LEED certified buildings, and has dealt extensively with frequent green amenities including:
- Green roofing systems
- Storm water retention/detention/reuse
- Water reclamation/rainwater harvesting for irrigation
- Rain gardens
- Minimizing impervious area
- Grey water systems
- Waste reduction on site
- Solar water heating
- Brine reclamation systems
MPFP’s commitment to quality and affordability is ensured by using resources more efficiently to create healthier and more energy‐efficient buildings.
